Short cover letter examples for email and quick applications
Updated 2 November 2026 · By the AfriCV career team
Not every application needs a full one-page letter. When you email a CV to a recruiter, fill in an online form with a small text box or apply through a messaging app, a short cover letter of three to five sentences is often the best choice. It is quick to read, shows you are professional and gets the recruiter to open your CV.
Below you will find a formula for short cover letters, more than ten examples for different jobs, tips for email subject lines, and a sample CV to attach.

The short cover letter formula
